More on topic, our local TV tech(in business since the 40's) demo'd a customer's vintage battery set for me a while back, i have to admit that it sounded amazingly good, possibly the best i've ever heard AM sound.

Also, per the article, PM loudspeakers in 1938? I found this very interesting/surprising. Would PM's have had a premium cost associated with them at that period in time?
